12 Days of Holiday Content Ideas for Interior Designers
Day 1: Show off your holiday decor
How are you getting in the spirit of the season? Whether it’s decorating the tree, hanging tinsel and mistletoe, lighting the menorah or going big with lights and blow-up figures, share your holiday decorating style in a post or reel.
Day 2: Post a thank you to your team or clients
The end of year (and anytime of year!) is a great time to share some gratitude. Give a shoutout to your team and/or the clients you worked with this year – nothing beats the warm and fuzzies around the holidays.
Day 3: Share a before, in-the-middle, and after of a project
Go beyond a simple before-and-after and share multiple stages that a project went through to get to the finished product.
Day 4: What’s on your wishlist as an interior designer?
You can go tongue-in-cheek and share things like “for every project to stay on its original timeline” or share a wishlist of projects you’d love to work on in the new year.
Day 5: Highlight your favorite project of 2024
It might be hard to choose (and you have my full permission to choose multiple if you can’t pick only one!) but show off your favorite project from this year. Maybe it’s the biggest transformation, or you faced the biggest challenge and got through it, or it made a huge impact on the clients. Brag on yourself with this piece of content!
Day 6: What is one thing you learned this year that your audience would benefit from hearing?
Whether it’s a simple trick you used in a project or something you shared with a client that they really appreciated, gift that knowledge to your audience.
Day 7: Create a carousel with a moment from each month of the year
Month by month, share your favorite memory to count down to 2025.
Day 8: Give your followers an easy tip to make their holidays more enjoyable in their home
What do you do as an interior designer to make the holiday season better in your home? Maybe you have an organizing process that saves your sanity, or you always light this type of candle. Whatever it is, your followers would love to hear it!
Day 9: Share a 2024 recap reel
Pro tip: Capcut templates make this super easy to create! You can scroll through a ton of options and find an audio and style that fit your brand.
Day 10: Create some excitement with a sneak peek at projects *almost* ready to share
Have projects in progress? Share what’s coming with a sneak peek reel!
Day 11: Your project availability
Yes, even during the holidays you can market your services! Tell your community when you’re booking new projects for and how they can get in touch.
Day 12: A look ahead to 2025
What are you excited about? What are your goals? Are you making any changes in the new year? Share a look ahead to 2025 to bring your followers in on the journey – it will make them even more excited to keep following along.
Do I Need to Post Through the Holidays?
Here’s the million-dollar question: Do you have to post through the holidays?
My opinion is absolutely not. If you want to (and I mean genuinely want to, not just feel like you have to or are scared what will happen if you don’t), you can, but the holidays are the time to log off, rest, and reset for the new year. Your business will not break if you don’t post on Instagram for a week or two.
