7 Blog Post Ideas for Interior Designers

Business

I always recommend blogging to my interior design clients if they have time (or want to market on Pinterest) because of its potential. Blogging with SEO in mind is one of the best ways to reach a new audience and be “discoverable.”

Add on the ability to repurpose your blog posts and pin fresh links to Pinterest? It’s the ultimate long-form content marketing strategy.

But if you’re not ready for keyword research and you’re looking for a good way to get into blogging, here are a few blog post ideas for interior designers to get you started:

#1. Your Favorite Projects

Start with something simple, like a round-up (or list) of your favorite projects. Pick projects of a certain style or timeframe to share with your audience. For example, “My XX Favorite Interior Design Project of 2025” or “XX Minimalist Design Projects from 2025.”

#2. Interior Design Case Studies

Social proof works wonders for conversion rates, and case studies are one of the best ways to share it. Create case studies on your blog to showcase your testimonials and bring more attention to your completed projects,

*Pro tip: Focus on the projects you loved doing. It’ll help you attract similar clients and projects!

#3. Trends

Notice an up-and-coming trend in interior design? Share a blog post explaining the trend, giving examples, and suggesting how new (and old) clients can incorporate it into their projects without letting it take over their style.

#4. Behind The Scenes

I love to do this with my social media management services (you can see an example here), but you can also share behind the scenes with a blog! Take your readers through what it really looks like to work with an interior designer. Share your onboarding process, how timelines are set, what communication looks like during their project, and even what they need before booking a consultation.

#5. Vendor Feature

Showcase vendors and contractors you love to work with and recommend. When you recommend someone to your audience and they have a good experience with said person, they also feel better about working with you.

#6. Shopping Lists

Create a shopping list or round-up of items based on the styles or interests of your ideal client. This is one of the most “pinnable” pieces of blog content you can write! And if you have a home decor shop? Include your own products in these lists!

#7. Guides & How-tos

One of the benefits of blogging is that there’s no word count limit (even if most are around 500-700 words). So, along with breaking down steps in an IG carousel, you can create guides and “how-tos” on your blog educating your audience on remodeling old homes or setting up a new one.

What’s Next? Doing More With Your Blog Content

Blog posts might have a longer shelf life than social media posts, but they require you to send traffic to them. Google might do it over time (thank you, SEO), but while you’re waiting a few months to see results, why not do even more with your blog content?

Use your social media accounts — Pinterest, Instagram, & Threads — to drive more traffic to your content by sharing your link and repurposing your blog posts into new social media content.
