5 Business Podcasts I Love Learning From

FILED UNDER:

Business

Since starting my company (click here for the story of how I did that!) podcasts have become one of my favorite ways to learn and improve as a business owner. From business to marketing to mindset and everything in-between, I make it a point to listen to at least one episode a day on my daily drives. If you’re looking for some podcast recommendations for your next road trip, look no further:

#5: Founded Beauty

You can learn so much from the stories of other founders, regardless of their industry! Hosted by the founder of Fable&Mane, Akash Mehta, each episode is an interview with a beauty entrepreneur. And many of them are HUGE names, so to hear their stories is amazing.

Some of my favorite episodes include the interview with Peace Out founder Enrico Frezza, this conversation with Amber Fillerup-Clark, and the episode with the founders of Youth to the People.

#4: Kiss My Aesthetic Podcast with Michelle Winters

The Kiss My Aesthetic podcast from brand designer and agency owner Michelle Winters of MKW CreativeCo is a treat. While heavily focused on brand design, the topics apply to the business world as a whole. Plus the insights into the behind the scenes of running successful service businesses are always appreciated.

Some of my favorite episodes include this one on batching your days, the collab episode with Michelle’s sister on client red flags, and the conversation with a trademark attorney.

#3: The B.S.-Free Service Business

Since discovering Maggie Patterson through her other podcast, Duped, I have been binging her podcast episodes. Each one has so many actionable tips for service providers to conduct their business sustainably, ethically and successfully. And her show notes? A league of their own. Each episode has so many resources, references and further learning for listeners to dive into.

Picking just three favorites is difficult! But I highly recommend the episode on the secrets to success as a service-business owner, advice for building trust with clients, and her interview with Becca Rich on creating time freedom.

#2: Duped: The Dark Side of Online Business

Another Maggie Patterson podcast is on my list. This collab between her and messaging expert Michelle Mazur is shaking. things. up. when it comes to online business. There is too much scamming and shady behavior slipping through the cracks – especially since the boom of online businesses – during the pandemic and Patterson & Mazur call. it. out. This investigative journalism is so needed and I love every minute of these episodes.

Honestly, listen to every single episode, but especially Predatory Pricing Practices, the Scam of Sales Psychology, and the Entrepreneurial Industrial Complex.

#1: The Unfiltered Entrepreneur

#1 on my list is the newest podcast from Ashli Pollard of Team AP Consulting. I am just as hooked on this one as I am on The Daily Hype (an amazing resource for motivational and inspirational content). Her raw takes on entrepreneurship are so impactful and I look forward to listening every monday.

My top recommendations from this podcast include this episode on most lucrative top of funnel options, this in-depth overview of hiring/managing/leading a team, and 3 harsh truths for why sales are low.
